I guess we're a bit late... the recent Northeastener gave the Norheastern corner of the US plenty snow last week and a lot of places further east in Europe already had their first snow a while back.
But this night the first snow fell over my little place. I now have an iced down stair and sidewalk that I have to take care of.
That snow and the upcoming opening of the third movie in The Lord of the Rings triology had me think of New Zealand.
For some reason I have never been there, and I completely fail to see why. Any flyfisher should go to New Zealand some time in his or her life if you ask me. It looks absolutely stunning and the fishing seems to be beyond belief.
I recently watched a set of videos called "New Zealand Trophy Trout" that I recieved from Bruce Masson from Deep Stream Productions in New Zealand.
these enticing videos made me realize even more that I have to go some day: large fish, beautiful surroundings and obviously some very kind people.
I will review these videos real soon now. Bruce has released three volumes and I have seen the last two of those. They contain some amazing footage of huge fish in even bigger landscapes.
And what better thing to do when it snows than to light the fire, poor a cuppa and wath some good fly fishing videos?
Well, maybe clear the sidewalk would be an alternative...
