Global Flyfisher is a playground in more than one way.
On one hand it's a place where we partners and a lot of contributors can get all our fly fishing anf fly tying stuff out on the web. It's a channel for publishing and a place to fool around with all our crazy ideas about fly fishing. Other medie might have published our stuff, but it's so much more convenient to do it ourselves.
On the other hand and to me in particular this is also a nerd's playground. During the last many years GFF has become increasingly automated and even though we still have a lot of old stuff floating around, most new articles are created and brought to you through a system, which does have a lot of neat features.
There's a lot of programming behind such a system, and I spend some of my GFF time developing these programs and coming up with new, neat ideas to make the site better.
I also like just to experiment with our content, such as in this GFF tag cloud.
Sometimes I get inqueries about these programs, but in most cases I just have to shrug my shoulders and let people know that I can't help them.
I do publish a lot of articles on web technology, content management systems and writing for the web, but it's all in Danish.
...or has been until now. Because recently I launched a small English site on one of the many domains I own. 3rdmover.com now hosts a few articles on some of the techniques used here. You can read about Amazonification, fading popups and create Tag Clouds of your own web site.
But remember: it is a nerd's site, so it shows a lot of code and programming.
