There are ups and downs of living in the Catskills. One obvious up is the abundance of trout fishing. There are some days where I just can't decide where to go. Within an hour of my house are all the major Catskill rivers, (Neversink, Esopus, Beaverkill, and Willemoc). Add another half hour and you bring in the branches and main stem of the Delaware. Heck - the Hudson River with it's spring run of Striped Bass is only a half hour away, but with no boat it might as well be on Mars.
More fishing than I can ever hope to take advantage of in my lifetime, but boy am I gonna try.
I can be wading in that stream pictured below 15 minutes after closing the garage door. There are two other stocked streams closer still. The biggest challenge is getting the lawn mowed and other chores taken care so I have time to explore. :-)
