A few tying articles:
Arctic Runner flies, by Deryn LaCombe. He tied up a whole bunch of different flies with Arctic Runner hair, which is sort of like artic fox, but silkier. Really pretty flies.
A varation (or variations) of Mike Martinek's "Quebec Sapphire" by Dave Talley. Dave ties a nice streamer, and the first variation I saw of this, a brook trout fry imitation, was delicious. I look forward to seeing these up close and putting together some text.
The Great Nymph Project will eventually morph into an article with some thoughts on production tying, at least on a small personal scale. I've not gotten very far, as you've seen, but this winter I hope to crank out a box full of nymphs and discuss some shortcuts that made "mass tying" a bit less tedious.
I've also got some flies and text from Mike Hogue on variations on The Prince Nymph. Some really interesting stuff, presented as only Mike is able. He's a good guy and has a great sense of humor.
I've written the start of a text on nymph fishing, which will probably be combined with something Steve and Martin are working on in a larger piece on subsurface fishing.
Anyone got a spare weekend or two I can borrow, to finish some of this stuff up?
