The BC Chronicles part 2

No comments yet

I would have loved to say that planning was running smoothly and everything was on a roll towards BC.

But that would be lying.

In reality I just packed all my fly gear, fly tying and a few other odds and ends - including all too many feet of fly fishing books - into boxes, which are now neatly arranged in a pile on my bedroom floor.

We have sold our house and are moving out to a flat, and much to our surprise the sale took less than a month and the takeover date is October 1st! Yes, in three weeks I have to sort and pack 19 years of mess into boxes and move it to another place!

Yikes!

And a couple of days after the move I'll be off to BC. Talk about a tight schedule! To make it even worse I have a couple of deadlines on a couple of projects late September too, so there's no sitting around or going lazily fishing for me the next month or so.

Apart from the stress, we have most of the trip under control. We have rented a large 4X4 and not a mobile home as we discussed earlier. We will probably just stay in cheap hotels and maybe a B&B now and then.

But I fear the days I have to spend digging out clothes and fishing gear for the trip in the mess. I have started making a BC pile, but I know I'll miss something and have to dive into boxes piled three high and just marked "fishing".

Yikes!

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
