The life of a self employed web site developer like myself can sometimes be like this: a month with no work, a month with a little work, a month with little work and then a couple of months with a crazy lot of work followed by a month with no work at all.
I have just launched two large web sites for clients, and the work up to those launches was hard, and now - when they are online and all the day-to-day issues appear - there's still quite a lot of work to do.
Being self employed, that's my reality. When work is there I work. When it's not, I leisurely coast along and have plenty time for other matters like writing articles for the Global FlyFisher.
So if you have felt that the publishing pace has been a little slow, you are right. And now you know the reason.
Or if you have sent me material, and is wondering when it appears on the site, it's not because I don't like it... or you!
I have simply been busy trying to make money.
Right now it seems that these two sites plus a couple of other and smaller projects will be off my shoulders in a couple of weeks, and then I'll be able to concentrate a little on GFF.
I have simply been busy trying to make money.
I have several contributes articles waiting to be edited and published, and a ton of ideas in the pipeline, all in the sketch stage, needing some writing, fly tying and photography before they can find their way online.
I manage to publish a few videos now and then, and as always I thank all those generous video makers who choose to share their work with the rest of us, and in particular appreciate those who submit their work to our video section. If you make videos, you can do the same. The GFF video section is a great place to showcase your work. The section draws a huge crowd and some days I see have several thousand people pressing the play button on a video in the video section, and most weeks the video section will be visited by somewhere between 10 and 20,000 people.
So until I get some "real" articles ready, you can always browse the 9,431 currently featured here.
