I began writing The Fiberglass Manifesto almost four years ago and it's been very interesting to see the readership grow even though I feel like I still don't know what I am doing. The original intent for the website was to be a resource and provide up to date information on the different small shop blank, fly rod builders and fly rod companies that offer fiberglass fly rods. Over time the focus has broadened to include reel makers, fly tiers, gear makers, photographers, collectors, artists, and really anything else that I believe is notable within the fly fishing industry.

It has been really neat to interact with anglers who may have never tried fiberglass without their reading of T.F.M., to hear how much they enjoy fiberglass fly rods and that they get what it's all about. Others have followed much the same path that I did with starting with fiberglass and then moving to graphite but back again to fiberglass and they are blown away by the quality fly rods and tapers which are now available in contemporary fiberglass and the offerings keep coming. It really is quite amazing.

I fish fiberglass for a lot of reasons but how fun it is to cast and play a fish tops it all. You should try it if you haven't. You just might like it.
