Czech Nymph books, where to buy them?

Forums:

In your opinion, what are the best Czech Nymph books or CDs/DVDs, and where can they be ordered? I have really gotten interested in tying these and would like to add some good books and DVDs about tying and fishing these flies, but I am having difficulty finding good ones.

There are several printed in Europe or the Czech Republic in English that I cannot find on any website. Does anyone have a good source of these?

I did just order this book, Czech Nymph and Other Related Fly Fishing Methods, from Czech Nymph, an online store, http://www.czechnymph.com/en/index.php?&show_page=eshop&show_page_mode=f... in the Republic, and I also got some materials from Siman, Ltd., http://shop.siman.cz/, yesterday, both nice sites. I'd like to get other books by Karel Krivanec in addition to the one above, and books of other Czech authors writing about Czech Nymphs.

I would appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Ray

Czech nymph books and DVDs...

Harold, the mentioned book from Karel Krivanec is the only one that focuses on Czech nymphing (and is written in English). A lot of other information is on Karel's site www.czechnymphs.com and on the sites you metioned in your email. The only DVD available is DVD Essential Skills with Oliver Edwards Vol. 1 (Czech Nymphing / Upstream Nymphing and North Country Spiders ). This DVD is reviewed on globalflyfisher.com and the whole series is recommended!

The good news is that there will be two new Czech books shortly (both in English). The first one will appear already in December and will be available via www.czechnymph.com (detailed content of the book is still under secret...) and the other one should be published in the spring - this will be a fly catalogue of the top Czech flyfishing competitors!!! I hope this info helped.

Thanks, Pavel, I'll be...

Thanks, Pavel, I'll be watching for the books and will buy when they are released. I already have Oliver Edwards' CDs and am enjoying them. Thanks for your information; I really appreciate it and am glad to hear about the new books!

Thanks, Pike. I checked the site and saw the book. I couldn't understand how to purchase from the site, so I e-mailed the shop to get information. Hopefully, I'll be buying a copy shortly.

The book really looks interesting. I like the pictures and format.

Thanks for letting me know about this!

Hello Harold,...

Hello Harold,

I see that you are interested in the highly effective technique Czech Nymphing. What I also see that more and more fishers become increasingly positive about this technique.
A lot of fishers viewed negative about Czech Nymphing, because they say it was a stupid way of fishing with a long rod and three very heavy nymphs and a leader with the length of the rod: 9 foot. Casting with this combination was not possible. Therefore Czech Nymphing was also called with ugly names like "bugging".

When Czech Nymphing was promoted more than a decade ago by the highly respected Oliver Edwards, fishers were amazed by the results and of the effectiveness. But the Czech Nymphing technique is constantly improved by flyfishers from all over the world but especially of course the Czech and Polish competitors.

Nowadays Czech Nymphing has been developed into a light and more effective way of fishing. In my opinion is this light way of nymphing also as amazing as the classic Czech Nymphing was when it was introduced by Oliver Edwards.
How this light Czech Nymphing works is to be seen on the website www.czechnymphing.com
There you see the most important promotor of this technique the "River God", mr. Jiri Klima. It is a demo of the DVD that shows how Jiri fishes with a #2 line and rod (!) of 8'3" foot, two weighted nymphs and a very short leader of 5 foot. Within 10 minutes Jiri catches 10 fish.
Special on this light way of Czech Nymphing, is that Jiri is able to change immediately from short line nymphing (Czech Nymphing) into long line nymphing by only a few false casts. Now Czech Nymphing is more effective than it was in the classic way. And it has become a light and delicate technique of flyfishing.

On this unique DVD, Jiri also gives a tying instruction of his four favourite nymphs, including the Czech Nymph (see how Jiri makes his dubbing by spinning with his fingers!) and the devastating Jig-nymph.

At this moment it is the only DVD about this new way of Czech Nymphing.

Hopefully I gave you and other fellow GFF members new information about the development of the Czech Nymphing technique.

Lipan

Czech nymphing...

And you can also come to Czech republic to practise the technique witl local flyfishers. Without guide with good relationships with local authorities, you are totally lost because it is very difficult to obtain fishing permit and fishing license. If you are interested, see following link:

I have been fishing in Denamrk 5times and it is huge difference and I really like it. We should take your country as an example.
