Notes: This version of the Blue Devil comes from 'Forgotten Flies' and the dressing is derived from Carrie Stevens' notes. There are several versions of the pattern included in the book and differ slightly from the pattern listed in Hilyard's book 'Carrie G. Stevens: Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies'. The changes from the original are minimal. Carrie tied her Blue Devil's using silver flat tinsel in both the tag and rib. She also used a brown and white barred feather from the ruffed grouse for the shoulder. Marcelo ties his devils using a barred feather from a Hungarian partridge.
