Squiggle Worm

Fishing for rainbowtrouts in reservoirs in the cold months can be difficult and requires flies with extra life and movement to be able to trigger the trout. For this type of fishing we once again have had Swedish Robin Phillips in the studio to demonstrate his favorite fly to the cold months in his Put & Take homewaters. The Squiggle Worm - a super simple and super effective fly.

The long rubber tail combined with the distinctive thorax causes the fly to move alive from side to side when retrieving and up and down the water due to the bead. A fly that can really provoke and lure even the most inactive trout to an aggressive take.

Hook: Ahrex NS122 Light Stinger # 6
Thread: Veevus 100 D GSP
Bead: 4 mm Jaw Breaker Bead, pink
Body: Squiggle Worm Tail, peach
Thorax: FNF Two Tone Jelly, orange/yellow

The GFF money box

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
