Coastal trips

During the last 15 years or so I have joined a group of friends on two annual coastal trips here in Denmark. I wouldn't want to miss these trips for anything. Here are a few pictures from the latest two.

We have a tradition amongst the group of friends I fish with. Every April and September we rent a house somewhere in Denmark and go fishing on the Danish coast for a week.
We have a great time, fish every day, eat well, tie flies and sample good wine, beer and whiskey, have gin-tonics before dinner and a good rum after.

We don't always catch a lot.

Personally I rarely catch anything these days, but that's a whole other story. Some participants fish from the sun rises till it sets, while others take it a little easier.

No matter the fishing success

- or lack of same - I wouldn't want to miss these trips for anything. They give us all a welcome break in the everyday humdrum and offers a chance to be with very good friends, fish, tie and talk fishing all day with fellow nerds.

I mostly set up

a small photo studio and take a lot of fly pictures, and more than once I have produced articles for the Global FlyFisher during these trips, and even though I personally don't produce dozens of flies on the trips, but others tie lots of flies that are fished during the week.

We go twice a year

, plan the next trip as we end the current and have rented houses in almost all corners of the country so we have varied coastal stretches to fish.

Martin,

Another GREAT article of yours. The pictures of you fishing from the shore got me.

Salutations for fighting back the MS.

My wife just got all excited, thinking they were pictures of Maine, her home. Now she wants to visit Denmark!

Take good care with Divus, look like a godsend gift to a flyfisherman.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
