My family and i have been coming to yellow creek over 60 years and fishing here has always been a challenge unless you fly fish! Big fish are hard to find. If you camp in pg&e campground be aware it is very over priced for having no garbage service and no utilities.
We love the humbug valley so beautiful!!!
River Otters moved i
River Otters moved into the water system about five years ago...I've seen 'em. The big trout have become Otter food, but you can still have fun with a 2 weight rod.
Been wanting to get
Been wanting to get to Yellow Creek for years, finally made my first visit in the last two days (May 20-21, 2014) The place is beautiful and serene, can't wait to return, but we saw no fish....Worked hard in the meandering valley section and down into the faster water of the canyon section...saw no signs of fish....Another fly fisherman staying in the campground said he had the same experience the last couple of days....He said that he had heard rumors of whirling disease impacting the creek. Were we just too early, water too cold, just one of those days, is the disease rumor accurate??? Be interested to hear any other comments......Thanks RD

Thanks, this made me smile today. I've been going there for about 23 years, and each time there feels like the first. One doesn't need to be fishing to be gobsmacked by the beauty of The Valley.
This my "Happy Place" & I like the peace, quiet and solitude there. Thanks for sharing.
