Hi fellow summit attendants,
I am in need of a lift from Copenhagen to Odense in order to make it for the now annual GFF summit. I would prefer morning or noon departure, in order to be able to do a bit of fishing on Friday, but I am open for other options, as long as the destination is Kragsbjergvej 121 Odense M on Friday the 21st of September.

If you are in possession of an empty seat and in need of someone to work the maps, please feel free to let me know.

Looking forward to see you all at the summit,
/atli

Hi Horstmann,
round new year you'll normally not have problems with the watertempratures. The average temprature is round 5/6°C. To that time you can fish the whole island depending on the wind. Good places are all round Mjells Mark. Als Fjord and Augustenborg Fjord can also be good.
Recommendable flies are all Shrimppatterns, Gra Frede and Magnus. A Polar-Magnus is a good fly at this time of the year. Also white Shrimpflies can work good.
If you are working the east coste to that time, you must notice the protective zones. Especially the places between Torup and Fynshav have lots of protective zones.

You have right, i copied the wrong name in it...SORRY
Thank for your correction!!

regards,
Nico

I think, if you use an alcohol burner, you could obtain clear ball shapes (sorry for my written English)

Very informative. I will go to the vice with some great ideas for new flies. The main point I have taken from the information is that czech nymphs should be kept as thin as possible.

Many thanks

I would like to get pricing infomation for this print/painting. I would need large size, maybe 36" x 48"

I'm a bit further north than Esox by 4 or so hours on the interstate. I would guess that chasing trout is maybe 25 % of my fly fishing. Most of the time from May through September, I'm chasing sunfish and smallmouth and largemouth bass. I will target carp when I see them feeding, so far just a couple of busted tippets there. I chase pike when I go up to Ontario, Canada on my vacation, but we have the pike's cousins, muskies, tiger muskies and chain pickeral in the local lakes and streams. Perch, yellow and white, chubs, fall fish, minnows, golden shiners are fun, American shad, river herring are fair game. Haven't tried catfish yet, but I hope to get a shot at a Snakehead come next spring. Come mid to late September, I switch to salt water, and target bluefish and striped bass through early November. There are a couple of rivers in New Jersey that have sea run brown trout, but they're few and far between. What we call a Sea Trout around here are Weakfish, which are in the croaker family. Trout(Browns and Rainbows) have become a winter, when it's warm enough and an early spring pursuit.

I am looking to purchase the following Poul Jorgensen Videos. They were listed at Anglers Book Store
under the following Catalog Numbers: Vol. 1-- ISBN O-LCI-00000-1 @ $29.95
Vol. 2-- ISBN O-LCI-00000-2 @ $29.95. I can't seem to locate them anywhere. It was a while back when
I got the info. above. Is there anyway you can please help me?

Martin,

Not sure if you wanted all Tee shirt responses here, and unsure if you got my request for a "Large" size in grey. This is the belt-and-bracres response.

thanks,
Les

Ripley,

Guess I don't need to say I would like to be part of the Friday "fish-in". Nothing received yet about the B&B, but there's time. This could be a crowd on Friday!

Regards,
Les

hi to every one...my name is Kyle and im maltese...its an island in the middle of the Meditterranean Sea. Your information about mullets is very good and its all tru..i d like to comment on the season though. Mullets not always appear in summer. They can be caught also in winter, in very rough sea. They also can be fished in calm water, in winter, but it has to be a sunny day so if the water will be warm enough you may encounter a group of mullets. thanks. If you want pictures of several mullets in this summer, and which i cauch just email me on berserk1771@hotmail.com and i'l send you the images . thanks

Hi folks,
We will drive to Odense by car from Hamburg on Friday noon I expect. As it seems we will have one seat available for somebody who needs a lift Hamburg - Odense.

Place a post or send a reply to me by mail to arrange everything further.

Rgds,
Ole

Hi Ripley,

Now the time of the summit is getting nearer and nearer and I want to ask you, what's
going on fishing wise?

I think this is a question all the joiners would have.

Could you recommend the last time and give a statement what we could expect?

I'll also arrive on Friday until noon, but that depends on the traffic.

Perhaps we can meet and fish together?

Could you leave your phone number (kai-nolting@web.de)?

Kind regards

Kai

Hi Ruza,
In Lithuania we also fish for rudds (Scardinius erythrophthalmus), Ides (Leuciscus idus) as you said asps, pikes and chubs.
A few times I have a great succes with rudds  These fish like to eat mosquitos from the top of the water,so you can see how they hunt for your hairy dry or wet fly :)
Most interesting fishing for me was in sunny and warm evening 8)

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
