The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.

Rule no. 1

The bottom is a main factor in the ocean. We have no trees, no meandering, no overhanging banks (almost none at least). The water covers it all and above that... the sky.

Bottom, water, sky
Bottom, water, sky
Global FlyFisher

The first rule is simple:

The bottom is a main factor in the ocean

We have no trees, no meandering, no overhanging banks
(almost none at least).
The water covers it all and above that... the sky.

Other factors have their saying

The bottom influences access to food, water quality, shelter, local currents, temperature, wave action and a lot of other things. Of course the wind, the currents, the moon, tide and many other factors have their saying, but a spot with a no-good bottom will rarely hold fish no matter what other factors might be ideal.

Tell me the bottom...

...and I'll tell you how the fishing is. So you have to decide what the bottom is like. The bottom can be judged by different meassures; topography, structure/material and color. How these meassures are used I will discuss along the way.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
