South Texas fishing with a 3wt

I went fishing with my new Risen 3wt fly rod. The Genesis rod and new Armor 2 reel. Great setup for under $200! This thing performed wonderfully on the bass, sunfish and Rio Grand cichlids! Guys, two really nice rio's this trip, and hooked another that got off. This was a fun trip no doubt. However it started very frustrating. I didn't catch much the first hour of the trip and neither did Paul. We both struggled to catch anything, but then the fishing turned on quickly. At around 9am we started getting hits, and did until we left. Seemed like the fish were sleeping in. HAHA.

I sell these flies I used by the way, so just let me know if you want to buy some and I can tie them up custom for you. Below are some social media links to where you can contact me directly to discuss custom flies.

Also here is where you can buy that setup. Make sure you type in my discount code at checkout for a discount given by Risen to all my subscribers. type in McFly at checkout! https://www.risenfly.com/collections/combos/products/genesis-rod-and-ree...

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
