Rooster hackle wet flies? From England? From the mid-1800s? You bet! HC Cutcliffe angler extraordinaire from Devonshire, England wrote an amazing book called "The Art of Trout Fishing on Rapid Streams" in 1863. The backbone of his fly patterns are rooster hackles matched to proper colored bodies.
These flies are indeed amazingly effective in rapid streams.
