Rabbit Leech

Last week I did a detailed version of a bunny leech where I talked while tying the fly. It is more detailed however being such a simple fly, and knowing many of you like my refined tutorial style with a voice over, I decided to do it again this way. Let me know which version you like better.

This is about as simple as it gets for a streamer. In fact I would say its even easier than a wooly bugger to tie, and just as versatile. This fly I learned to tie while working at a fly shop on the San Juan River in New Mexico called Float n Fish. The shop owner tied these for his customers regularly and it really worked great as an inexpensive little streamer that just plain worked. I found that I could use just about any technique for this fly. Dead drifting, stripping, swinging, and even nymphing it under an indicator. When nymphing it, I would regularly also drop a nymph on the back of it incase the trout missed the streamer, they would then have a nymph in front of their face to eat up. One of my favorite colors was what I tied today, all white. This would mimic the trout they would regularly stock in the river. Big browns come up from the depths to eat the stockers and would go after these flies. But black, olive, brown, and even chartreuse work great as well.

As you all know, I work closely withwww.risenfly.com and they have offered every one of my subscribers a discount. So go to their shop, and type in "McFly" at checkout for 15% off of anything you buy on their site.

Below I link to not only the risen fly items, but also to other materials I use. I recently started getting materials from the Fly Artist because they have a large selection with great prices and also a great shipping policy. I will link below to their website for the materials I cannot get through Risen Fly. These are affiliate links, so I do make a small percentage of the sale since I am promoting them. But as you know from past places Ive promoted, I am very picky. I want to make sure they have good customer service and prices. I have kept Risen Fly around as my sponsor for so long because they really are the best when it comes to prices and customer service, however they dont have everything. For the name brand materials that Risen does not cary, I will be posting links to the Fly Artist. Thank you!

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
