Originated by: Don Ordes
Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer hook
Thread: Olive dun 6/0
Body: brown floss
Rib: Fine gold oval tinsel
Belly: A few sparse long brown polar bear guard hairs
Throat: Short brown polar bear
Wing: 4 natural ginger hackles flanked by black laced dyed brown hackle
Shoulder: Short satyr tragopan breast feather
Eye: Jungle cock
Topping: Cree dry fly hackle
Head: Olive dun
Notes: Don was looking for something slim to mimic a bait fish he had in mind with earthy tones. The black-laced brown wing keeps the body slim and dark, but the cree dry-fly shoulder / topping gives some 'kick' to the back of the fly, mimicking the stripes on the natural ala Billy Jack. The polar bear belly really shows up and reflects in the light, creating a fuller look for the belly of the fly, similar to scales. The polar bear slides through the water nicely, so the fly doesn't come to a halt as much during a strip-retrieve.
