Notes: The Primary Perch is one of several from a series of "Primary" flies designed by Ken in 2011. He draws his inspiration for the series from the use of primary colors, a concept that has used by tyers dating back to Carrie Stevens. He also incorporates Bates' belief of using "form, flash and action" to create the most effective flies. The use of the yellow grizzly hackle provides a bright target, while mimicking the natural par markings young perch exhibit. Piscivorous trout and salmon will find it difficult to pass on this if it happens to rip through their territory. Credit goes to Ken's grandson for christening the stream
