Originated by: Ora Smith
Source: Trolling Flies for Trout and Salmon; Dick Stewart & Bob Leeman 1982 pg.86
Hook: Mustad 3665A
Body: Oval silver tinsel
Wing: Four light grey saddle hackles
Throat: Red hackle fibers tied in beard style
Eye: Painted black with white pupil
Head: Painted silver
Notes: This is a wonderfully simple little casting streamer. If you happen to check the recipe in "Trolling Flies for Trout and Salmon", you will notice the description for the eye also mentions a red center, but isn't present in the image. Glenn has put together an amazing set of 12 Ora Smith streamers as his contribution to the Streamers 365 project. We will be auctioning them all together as a set near the end of the project.

Comment to #291 - Silver Smelt
Hi Glen, This looks like a great fly and one that would catch fish. I've had pretty good luck with smelt imitations. Have you caught fish with it?
