Notes: The Magog Smelt is one of the most popular bucktails and was developed by Mr. Frier Gulline of Fin, Fur and Feather, Ltd. The fly was initially intended to be sunk into the waters of Memphremagog Lake to pursue the land locked salmon of the region. In addition to being a successful lure for the land locked salmon, the streamer found favor with smallmouth and striped bass anglers. Dwayne's version strays from the familiar violet bucktail wing and substitutes in black and a couple other minor flourishes.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
