Originated by: Alan Grombacher
Hook: #2 Castle Arms Heritage Allcock hook
Thread: White flat waxed nylon
Tag: Silver flat tinsel
Body: Light olive floss
Ribbing: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Wing: 4 red grizzly hackles
Shoulder: Golden pheasant tippet
Eye: Jungle cock nail
Head: Black
Notes: I first seen this pattern in the book "A Compendium of Canadian Fly Patterns" by Bob Jones and Paul Marriner. The book includes a few of Al's streamers as well as some 1600 other flies, a must have for any fly tyers library. The red wing on the pattern reminds me a bit of Al's Maligne Laker (to come later in the year), a killer in Jasper's trophy brookie lakes.

Since you got this far …
… I have a small favor to ask.
Long story short
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
