Assassine

This is Jean Paul Pequegnot’s pattern created around 1964. He wanted to combine the high float of a palmer fly with partridge. It worked and caught so many fish he named it the Assassine.

Hook: 10-14
Thread: Yellow silk
Hackle: front partridge (brown speckled or grey) wrapped dull side facing the eye - concave side forward.
Rear hackle dun cock wrapped several times tight against the partridge then palmered to the bend

It is a fun tie! Give it a shot.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
