The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.

Autumn Caddis Emerger

No comments yet

The Autumn Caddis Emerger is one of the most versatile flies that I fish. I am using an AFF N304 hook (straight-eye, 2x-short, 3x-wide scud/emerger hook. Check them out at www.allenflyfishing.com.

The midge tubing and wire gives the abdomen great translucency and segmentation. The peacock dubbing and krystal flash reflects UV light quite well, while the brahma hen hackle gives great movement to the fly while in the water. I will fish this fly either on the swing or dead drift just below the surface. Try tying this pattern using different colors of thread, tubing and wire to match the caddis in your local fishery.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
