Bannister Bug

No comments yet

Hi everyone this is a fun pattern I gave a whirl without really knowing the exact details but from hearing Luke Bannister talk about it on the Fly Culture Podcast and also perusing his website. In the end on his YouTube channel he has a video of him tying it. He does use a rooster hackle. I guess my fly is a variant 😁.

Mr. Bannister is a rod maker in the UK who crafts bamboo, graphite and glass rods. He also makes and sells Stuart Crofts furled leaders. Many noteworthy anglers have his rods and leaders. He also has a fun YouTube channel mostly of his fishing adventures.

After making my video I found his showing the tying. He does use a rooster hackle. The video is here:

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
