Here we will be tying the fly Svartur Köttur (Black Cat). The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing and has been used here in Iceland for a while. The fly catches both brown trout and salmon and is rather simple to tie and totally worth to keep few in your box when go fishing. The Svartur Köttur fly has been used in the region of Veiðivötn with great results for the brown trout up there.

Pattern
Author: Pjetur G. Hjaltason.
Hook: Mustad salmon double #8
Thread: UNI 8/0 black.
Body: Naked.
Beard: Black bucktail trimmed.
Wing: Black bucktail + 3-4 strands of pearl flashabou.
Eyes: Dumbell or chain eyes.
Head: Black coated with Solarez Bonecure.
