Chubby Peacock

Here we will be tying a chubby version of the famous Icelandic nymph Peacock by mr. Kolbeinn Grímsson. The Chubby Peacock or a Cigar Peacock like it's called in Iceland is almost kind of a must have fly if your planning a fishing trip in the Þingvellir's national park. There the depth of the water requires a heavy fly that sinks fast. Make sure you bring more than one or two flies because the rocky lava bottom there tends to get them stuck. So I'd say bring at least 5-10 for the day. Peacock in general is a great fly both stream and lake fishing and catches both hands, brown trout and arctic char. This version is simple to tie and very durable if you add superglue on the underbody. Ívar recommends this one for Þingvellir and other lakes where you have big fish lurking in the depths.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
