A day trip starting at the Current River Blue Ribbon Section followed by an afternoon at Little Piney Creek for wild rainbow trout. Lane Spring vitalizes the Little Piney with 10 million gallons of 58 degree water per day along with Yancy Mill and Piney Springs. Dense vegetation grows along the stream creating deep cut banks where many fish take cover. The stream bed is comprised mainly of gravel and silt with little sand, which is why I believe brown trout have not been introduced. The abundance of deep, oxygenated pools and submerged vegetation create optimal habitat for rainbow trout.
