Debarbing Hooks
In this fly tying tutorial, I explain two methods that I employ when debarbing hooks. These are based on the type of vise that you use, and both are explained during the video. I prefer to debarb hooks prior to tying, and encourage all of you to do the same. Though hooks with barbs do have a place in fishing, catch and release is the preferred style for me and many others; fishing with barbless hooks aligns with this style and is my recommendation for all to use.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
