Here we will be tying the Engjafluga nymph, designed by Jón Pedersen. Jón Pedersen is a legendary angler in Iceland even though he passed over 10 years back.
Mr. Pedersen designed many great patterns and we want to honour his memory by tying all those patterns here and publish them here on the channel and preserve them for the future generations. Engjaflugan is named after a fishing-spot called Engi or Engin in Elliðavatn lake just on the city borders of Reykjavík. The fly has been really successful at that particular spot and then again in many many other lakes and streams in Iceland. Originally the fly was made from a copper wire strands from a electric cable. Some people started to call it Rafmagnsflugan but that's not its original name. That I know since mr. Pedersen taught me fly tying. This is a simple pattern and I highly advise anglers to have it in the box.
