Recently while fishing at a local river here in San Antonio Texas, I met a subscriber to the channel that offered to show me a few spots he likes going to. I took him up on the offer and very happy I did. Roger took me to this little creek (I will not give the name on the internet, sorry) but one thing I will say is that it is a nature preserve. At first when I saw this I was skeptical on whether or not its legal to fish, but turns out it is. It was such a great time, catching many sunfish. I was using a 3wt fly rod and some of these sunfish really were giving me some fight. Sunfish are known to pull pretty hard even though they aren't large fish.
I also saw a really nice bass while fishing. Probably 4-5lbs. It was chasing the sunfish. I tried throwing on a game changer with no luck. Im hoping to come back with a wide range of streamers to try out and get some big bass strikes. I actually saw 3 decent sized bass in the short time I had fishing with Roger.
Now that my kids are in school I am able to do these week day trips. This of course does not leave me a lot of time to fish, but at least its something. Im hoping to get out to this creek sometime on a weekend soon and try for those bass with more time.
