Fly fishing with the kids

No comments yet

The past 4th of July the family and I went to Blanco state park to enjoy the outdoors. It was a hot, but beautiful day. The kids had a fun time searching for lizards and bugs, and my daughter made it her mission to collect all the sticks she could find for some reason. I did however bring the fly rod to help teach Abby how to fish, and Eli also had a great time casting and continuing to learn. In fact Eli caught lots of fish, and had a wonderful time.

The rod and reel I was using was from www.risenfly.com. The rod is called the Genesis, and the reel is called the Armor reel. I was using their fly line as well. Their gear is very inexpensive for such high quality. They even have a lifetime warranty, and if you break it they will (for a small fee) fix or replace it as well. They will also give you a discount on your first order with them on anything in their shop. so go to www.risenfly.com and type in McFly at checkout for 15% off of anything you want.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
