In Davie McPhail’s latest fly tying video he turns his skills towards my very own Golden Ace.
I originally tyed The Golden Ace as a variation of Sandy McConnachies fly the McConns ace 5 odd years ago for trout feeding on olive nymphs up here in Shetland at tingwall & asta.
The fly got its first major outing during the 2018 inter county where this fly secured myself Shetland top rod with 13 fish and after sharping the fly with the team it helped the Shetland team win the inter county overall.
The Golden Ace has also served me well during trips away to the Scottish mainland at the lake of menteith and down in England at Rutland and chew valley.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
