Griffiths Gnat Midge (cluster)
Griffith's Gnat is a well known and highly effective fly pattern for trout and other insectivore fish. It can represent a midge (cluster), mayfly or general insect.
For larger sizes, use 2 peacock herls, and smaller use just 1. Grizzly hackle can be found from saddles, capes or Whiting 100 packs. Smaller sizes will be easier to find in capes while saddles usually have a range of feather sizes (#14-18 for example). A hackle gauge will help you select the proper size of hackle for the size of fly you are tying.
The pattern is quite simple and so tying the Griffith's Gnat into smaller sizes (#18-24) is easy to do.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
