Goofy Man is a truthful description about salmon fishing with its ups and downs. When everything goes as it should, you feel like on top of the world. But when you bite the dust, you start to overthink all your moves and tiny little details. Goofy Man is a direct translation from a Finnish word huru-ukko. It is a humorous nickname for a fisherman who has strong opinions and own beliefs. Even though salmon fishing is a very simple sport, it is full of myths and superstition. The beliefs concern flies, fishing techniques, gear and equipment and they come to your mind especially when salmon doesn't take.
