Medina River after a drought

South Texas has had very little rain over the past 3 months which is very rare for the Summer months here. Many of the rivers were dried up, or had too little flow to fish. Even the Medina only had a couple deep holes still holding water. So you know my excitement when it finally rained pretty good last week, and I just had to go give fishing a go. After almost 3 months since I fished by myself, it was really nice to finally have a rod in my hand and wading through a river. I was debating whether to fish the Guadalupe river or the Medina river. Im really happy I chose the Medina.

I was able to land quite a few bass, and two of them actually where pretty decent size. I also got quite a few sunfish, and even a couple Rio's with one of them being one of the largest Ive ever caught on this river. Unfortunately my camera died when I hooked into that one so I only was able to film it with my phone.
