Pine Squirrel Leech
This fly, the Pine Squirrel Leech, is a great small leech pattern that can be fished as a nymph or a streamer. You can tie this with the eyes like I show you or just use a cone-head, your choice.
Hellgrammite
Here's the pattern I came up with for smallmouth fishing in the summers around my area. The Hellgrammite is a staple of summertime bass and is a great bait for smallies.
Clown Egg, Holsinger's Fly Shop
Here is one of my brown trout patterns I use during the salmon run in NY every fall, the Clown Egg. I tie this pattern using McFly Foam, by far the easiest material to use to make a single egg.
The Patriot (Variant)
Here is my version of the classic Charlie Meck fly, The Patriot. This is my go to dry fly for late summertime fishing.
Ultimate Olive
This is the wet fly I used in my latest instructional video on wet fly fishing, fishing small streams. I was messing around at the vice one night trying to come up with something new.
Introduction to Wet Fly Fishing, Fishing Small Streams
This is my second instructional on wet fly fishing. This time I take a look at fishing in a small stream and cover issues like leader set up and how to approach a hole to fish.
Vladi Worm, The Condom Worm
Here is a variation on a great nymph pattern, the Vladi Worm. This pattern was made to be fished in the Czech or Polish Style. This is a great nymph to get you down deep.
Partridge and Flash Wet Fly
This time I'm tying a great attractor fly, the Partridge and Flash Wet Fly. I've been fishing wets a lot lately so that's what I've been tying lately and I'm passing some of those on to you.
Steelie Blue Steelhead Jig
In this video I bring you a nice steelhead jig that's gonna get you down to the bottom quickly and be perfect for a Czech Nymph or highsticking method of fishing.
Alder Variant
This is a fly I picked up from a guide friend of ours, Tom Doman of Penns Creek Guide Service, for fishing the Little Black Stone Fly and Grannom hatches which come off at the same time.
Grannom Dry Fly
Here is one of my favorite looking flies, the Grannom Dry Fly. Here in Central Pennsylvania in April we have some great hatches of Grannom Caddis and this is the pattern I use for it.
Quill Gordon Wet Fly
Here is another traditional wet fly, the Quill Gordon. This is a great spring hatch here in our region and this is a great pattern to match it. Also it's a very simple pattern to tie.
March Brown Wet Fly
Here is a great traditional wet fly pattern, the March Brown. The March Brown is one of the first wet fly patterns I learned to tie and fish.
A Beginners Guide To Wet Fly Fishing,
This is an instructional video on how to fish with wet flies brought to you from http://holsingersflyshop.com.
Big Thompson Special
I'm back with another nymph pattern. The Big Thompson Special. This is a pattern I saw in a recent Fly Tyer Magazine and tweaked it to my liking. I think you will like it too.
Lightning Bug
Here's another nymph pattern from http://holsingersflyshop.com, the Lightning Bug. This is a neat little pattern that is very easy to tie with only a few pieces of material. Don't forget all the mater...
Soft Hackle Sulfur
Here is my Soft Hackle Sulfur pattern. I fish this fly as a dropper in my nymph leader during the sulfur hatch and I also drop it off a dry or spinner pattern and do real well with it.
Caddis Pupa Emerger
I've been trying to come up with my own way to tie a Caddis Pupa and this is what I came up with, my Caddis Pupa Emerger.
Tabou Caddis, Holsinger's Fly Shop
Here is a slightly different way to tie the Tabou Caddis than the standard pattern. I tie it slightly different in that I leave out the ribbing and use some extra chickabou feathers to get the look th...
Little Black Stone
Here is one of my favorite early spring patterns in my area, the Little Black Stone. I fish this pattern year around and tie it in sizes 12-16.
Super Zug
This time I bring you an awesome looking Spey fly by Jeff Wimer called the "Super Zug". I really liked the look of this and decided I needed a few in my box and thought I should share it with you too....
Czech Style Heavy Nymph
This is a simpler way to tie a Czech style fly capable of getting your line down quickly. The profile of this fly is very similar to a woven nymph just simpler and quicker to tie.
Olive Psycho
Here is and awesome looking nymph, the Olive Psycho. This is one of my latest creations and I think it's gonna be a killer fly.
Golden Pheasant Tail Nymph
This is one of my favorite "generic" nymph patterns, the "Golden Pheasant Tail Nymph". I love using golden pheasant tail in my flies.
