Wally Wing Dun
An upside down mayfly dun. This is an interesting pattern for those of you that have not tied wally wings before, they may look challenging but using this method makes it easier.
Silicone Fry
This little bait fish imitation is one of my most productive salt water patterns. Very quick to tie and very realistic in the water.
Sepia Dun
The Leptophlebia marginata and vespertina or sepia and claret dun are two very abundant mayflies that prefer more acidic waters like, hill lochs and forest lakes.
Mayfly Dun
When the big flies are on the water you need a pattern that ticks all the boxes. Heres a mayfly dun that gives a great footprint and is easy to tie.
Para Dun BWO
A simple little mayfly dun, that not only represents a blue winged olive but just with a little change in size and colour can be made to represent many other small mayflies.
Large dark olive emerger
This Baetis Rhodani emerger is a quick but effective pattern when large dark olives start to hatch.
Hook: Mustad R30 # 14-16
Thread: Olive
Tail: Coq De Leon
Body: Black quill slip
Rib: Yellow f...
F-fly
Marjan Fratniks F-fly, an absolute must for any trout fisherman. This is the super simple and original pattern of this modern classic.
Float foam ant
A flying wood ant pattern that uses Float foam as the main material. This pattern will float high and dry all day long and then some...
Hatching Midge
This little hatching midge has a couple of unusual techniques that make it a real go-to pattern, that fishes like a dream all year long.
Gammarus shrimp
This little Amphipoda can represent many of the several thousand different speices that are found in both fresh and salt water all over the world.
Atomic Caddis
A slightly different technique for tying cat gut bidies on dry flies. A great little pattern for both still and running waters.
CDC & deer hair emerger
This little CDC and deer hair emerger uses a turkey biot for the abdomen and partridge for the tail. A real quick tie for a great fish catching pattern.
Deer Hair Hatching Midge
Another quick and simple early season pattern that floats perfect for a great presentation.
The Screaming Banshee
A great little skating caddis pattern tied with elk hair.
A Gill abdomen mayfly technique
A nice technique for making realistic mayfly nymph abdomen with simple materials.
Moose mane dun
An extremely simple but yet good looking pattern, that works well when large hatches are happening.
Melt Glue Gammarus
A super simple but realistic pattern that imitates both the fresh and salt water shrimp. This melt glue technique makes a very natural soft, chewy but also tough and robust body.
Melt glue Rhycophila larva
Another quick melt glue pattern for the adventurous tyer.
Double D Caddis
A nice technique for making a CDC body, without coming in conflict with the under body of the fly. This makes the body fish deep under the surface but keep the wing high and dry.
Partridge & Hare nymph
Hares ear, partridge, tinsel and a bead head. A great combination of fish catching materials all wrapped up in one easy nymph pattern.
Detached body para loop mayfly
This is a good looking but really simple pattern to tie. All you need to do is change the hook size and the colour of hackle and you have a nice and easy technique to imitate many mayfly's.
Para Post Diving Caddis
A nice little diving caddis that has has a somewhat different detached body technique.
Double Super Bug
An unusual peacock and deer hair pattern with a double wing. Originally made to imitate a caddis fly the super bug is also a great searcher pattern, that will raise fish from their holding spots just ...
Claret Snatcher
An excellent loch style pattern that is a real attractor when pulled in or just under the surface.

What's the first letter in name of this site?
Yes, this is a trick question and easy to answer - it's g!
We ask it because spam bots are too stupid to answer correctly, while humans are not.
