PE-MO (Peach Monster)
For many fly fishermen, winter is a time for fly tying, but if you are really keen on fishing, you can still be able to fish for sea run brown trout in the coastal areas of scandinavia. What distinguishes the winter fishing for sea run brown trout is the often very low water temperature, which means that the fish are not in search of food. Instead, it is important to find the fish and serve a fly that moves pulsating and visible from afar. Popular patterns in this period are the Pattegris and the Wolly Bugger in strong shades such as fluo pink, orange and magenta. The secret to success with this fishing is patience and, in many cases, being able to fish the fly extremely slowly. Here we fly fishermen have a clear advantage over the spin fisherman, as we can tie a fly that, with the help of the right line and leader, can be made to float more or less freely in the water.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
