Ray Bergman Winged Wet Fly

Ray Bergman namesake fly pattern from his seminal work "Trout". In this videos I will tie a Ray Bergman wet fly. The recipe for the video is below.

Hook: Mustad 3399 size 6 - any traditional wet fly hook will work and down to size 12.
Tail: Mallard Flank
Body: Rust Orange Uni yarn - any rusty orange wool yarn or dubbing will work
Throat: Brown Schlappen - brown hackle (hen) wrapped and then shaped into throat is more traditional
Wing: grey quill slips - duck quills in my case.
Head: Black thread

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
