Underwater action and full tying SBS on the hot Sunburst Dog Nobbler. The Dog Nobler fly was originally tied for the large stocked rainbow trout of the British reservoirs. The creator, allround angler Trevor Housby was inspired by American fishermen, using ultra light spinning tackle and mini jigs. He wanted to make light versions, that could be handled by a standard fly rod.
In this color scheme I guess my fly resemble a small shrimp or crawfish. It can be handled on relatively light tackle. I frequently use them om 5 and 6 weight outfits. The lively swimming motion lure all kind of predators. So far I've used this one for trout and perch.
Note, that the under water footage is from a very healthy natural lake. The clouds of small particles are Ostracods, small algae eating crustaceans popular known as seed shrimp.
