Tesla Coil Nymph

No comments yet

I was looking to create a nymph for fishing the tributary streams running into Lake Ontario that had both a UV presence and a little extra weight. The Coil hits the mark by using a body of copper wire and a heavy tungsten bead combined with some UV materials.
The fly has been great so far, picking out quite a few trout, chub and panfish from the creeks.
Tesla Coil Nymph fly pattern recipe
Hook: Firehole 516
Bead: Black tungsten 4mm
Thread: Brown Olive 8/0 (70d)
Tail: 3-4 strands of UV crystal flash
Body: Copper wire
Collar: UV Brown Ice Dubbing

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
