The Copper John fly is one of the most popular nymphs, if not the most popular nymph in fly fishing today. Its attractive qualities given to it by the copper wire and peacock herl make it irresistible to trout. The Copper John was originally designed by John Barr and has taken on many variations since its birth.

The subtitle "Over 1,000 color photos of techniques and pattern styles" lured me into buying this book from 2001.
125 pages at 10 UK£ or about 16 US$ used made it a no-brainer.
And the subtitle is true enough - of course - because the book has an enormous number of photos, and even though haven't counted, there is probably one thousand or even more.

This is a book right after my heart. No-nonsense fishing flies presented in a clear and appetizing fashion with really excellent pictures, step-by-step photos, thorough tying instructions and even a bit of prose about each of the originators of the flies.
