Tie a fly with your Waste
I do not like to waste materials so I am always looking for ways to use materials that most people would normally throw away after tying a fly. In this fly I use a part of the hide from a rabbit strip streamer I tied. Tying that streamer without utilizing the actual hide and just cutting the fiber off allows me to make two flies from that same strip therefor maximizing the flies I get from the same packet of rabbit strips. I also told you all to keep the extra fur that you pulled off the hide because that can be used as dubbing on other flies. So really we are getting materials for 3 separate flies from just one rabbit strip piece.
This rabbit strip worm is really effective for a host of different fish. Pretty much all fish eat worms, and worm flies have been a staple in most Fishermans boxes since fishing basically began. From trout, to bass, to carp and sunfish. Most every freshwater, and even saltwater fish eat worms. I bet this would even work (with a larger hook of course) for fish in saltwater as well. I like tying this on a jig hook with a tungsten slotted bead as it helps get this down to where the fish are, and where worms usually are as well, the bottom of a river or lake.
Dont forget to check out my sponsor risen fly. They offer amazing gear at very reasonable prices. Best off they are offering you all a discount, so go to www.risenfly.com and type in McFly at checkout for 15% off your first order with them.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
