Tying Dry Fly Tails with Microfibetts

No comments yet

During this tutorial, I explain three techniques for utilizing microfibetts when tying dry flies. There are other options available for adding tailing fibers, yet these three are all quick and easy, plus help to imitate the natural adult stage of the mayfly. After tying the tailing fibers in, continue to finish the fly with either dubbing, herl, quill, etc. I prefer the use of microfibett tailing fibers with finicky trout, especially when I want to ensure the fibers will closely represent the natural insect while maintaining buoyancy for the pattern. Long story short

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
