Watson's Fancy

Here we will be tying the famous Watson's Fancy nymph. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing and catches both brown trout and arctic char. Simple to tie and totally worth to keep few in your box when go fishing. The fly is among the most popular flies in Iceland for trout fishing.

Pattern

Author: Donald Watson.
Hook: Ahrex FW560 #8
Thread: UNI 8/0 black.
Rib: UNI oval silver tinsel.
Body: ½ red wool (aurora yarn) ½ black wool (aurora yarn).
Wing: Teal flank Mallard.
Head: Black.
