I have written about fishing for pike in the salt before, and might do so again, because this fishing is something else.
It is the high season now, and I went out yesterday with fishing buddy and good friend Kasper. We spent a day at a place where Kasper recently had taken nine (9) large pike, and even though we didn't get quite that number, we did get some good fish.
Personally I had most fun with a 110 centimetres (43") specimen, which I spent 15 minutes hauling in. Quite a monster, actually. A length-to-weight formula says about 10.5 kilos or 23 lbs! Decent fish if you ask me.
The fish was landed and photographed, but unfortunately only by myself, so there are just pics of the fish on the weed and none with me and the fish. But it WAS big. Trust me. Bear in mind that the rod on the image below is a 9 weight Hardy Pike Teaser with a good size Scierra Traxion reel.
The fish was released after a couple of minutes and now waits for me to return...
