#29 Seattle - Team Colors Collection - Don Soar

Tied by: Don Soar
Originated by: Don Soar

Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer 8xl
Thread: Black
Tag: Dark blue tinsel
Body: Blue floss
Underwing: Light blue bucktail
Wing: Four grizzly dyed dark blue hackles
Shoulder: 3 Lady Amherst tippet feathers tied in an array with a Jungle cock nail dyed green between the top and middle tippet
Head: Black

Notes: Just one week to Superbowl, feel free to comment on Don's streamer below and leave your prediction on who will get the rings this year. This is the Seattle submission from Don's 32 streamer Team Colors Collection. The Team Colors series was started after an on-line fly swap using the colors from one of the teams in the Superbowl in 2006. The Steelers beat the Seahawks that year 21-10 and was the first of the 32 thematic patterns in the series. It took Don a couple of years to complete all the teams, but well worth the wait. Most of that time was spent looking for just the right colors and feathers to create the right feel for each. If you are not a fan of Seattle, not to worry, we have many more from the series included in the project.

Love the Superbowl. Have to agree with geoffrey, Pats win. Not very creative, but we always have Chili for Superbowl Sunday.

Being a soccer and rugby fan, I don't follow American Football closely but I've always had a soft spot for the New England Patriots.

By the way, feel free to add a link to the Other Sports section of my Soccer Site (click on name!)

This year is a different one. Patriots are quite good again this year. However, the Giants are always good for a surprise. I pick the Giants.

I vote for the Patriots! I'm not following football, but I hope the Patriots win by 6 points ;-)

I won't be watching - and will be as excited about the result as I was last year. (Hard to believe that there are a couple of us still around .... so lets say my vote is neutral :-)

The Giants have momentum and a much better defense. I feel NY will win in a close low scoring game.

I was rooting for a Harbaugh v. Harbaugh SuperBowl, but since both the Ravens and 49rs lost in the Conference Championship games, I don't really have a rooting interest in the game. It's hard to bet against Brady, but I have a feeling that the Giants are going to edge out the Patriots on some funky play (deflected pass, mishandled hand-off, etc.) leading to a last-minute field goal ... something like 33-31.

Our house will be cheering for the Patriots. Expect at least a 10 point spread. And, we'll be eating a nice hot chili while enjoying the game (that's our tradition)!

Since you got this far …

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
