Notes: The Molloy smelt is an east coast pattern developed by Jerome Molloy of New Brunswick for the spring kelt (salmon) fishery. Every spring, there is a run of "black" salmon and searun trout in Atlantic Canada. The fish feed of the smelts which have a light blue tinge. Jereome developed the pattern to match the smelts and quickly found success with the first time out with the streamer.

Jerome Francis Molloy is an honored inductee of the Atlantic Salmon Museum Hall of Fame in Doaktown, New Brunswick and was the Federation Quebec Salmon Atlantic Fly Tyer's Hall of Fame. Anyone of this caliber who develops a streamer fly I would highly recommend it be fished with confidence.
