Notes: This is one of Carrie Stevens' lesser known patterns. Mrs. Stevens tied the head of the streamer black with a green band, a departure from the usual orange band seen on many of her creations. When Wendell Folkins took over Mrs. Stevens' fly tying business, he continued to offer this pattern to customers, but tied the streamer using the signature orange band, and rather than the yellow golden pheasant feather for the shoulder, Mr. Folkins opted to use a heavily-barred church window body feather from a male ringneck pheasant. While this wasn't a huge change, it did give the fly quite a different look. Another version of the streamer also exists in 'Forgotten Flies' with the streamer being tied with a yellow and black lady amherst pheasant rump feather. Gary's version varies only slightly from Mrs. Stevens' original and features a bright green head and omits the throat of golden pheasant crest.
